Our Montessori Method

At the core of the Montessori approach is the time-proven belief that the most memorable and meaningful learning happens when your student (and his questions, interests, and experiences) are at the center of a complete and balanced education. It’s known among 21st century educators as “student-directed learning”.

Our learning environment is located on four acres of wooded grassy land in Freehold, New Jersey. Our quaint buildings and wonderful shaded play areas were intelligently and thoughtfully designed to enhance the education experiences for both teachers and children. Established in 1998, Freehold Montessori follows the principles of education developed from the research of Dr. Maria Montessori. Our school is licensed for 82 children, whom are guided by dedicated, talented, and highly qualified Montessori teachers and experienced assistants.

The school is a Member of the American Montessori Society and is licensed by the state of New Jersey under the Division of Youth and Family services. Our curriculum is enhanced on an age-appropriate basis by courses of study in Math, Language, Science, Geography, Sensorial, and Practical Life. Additionally, we have Music and Spanish classes. All of these areas help in creating real life opportunities for the child to grow as a well-rounded individual.

The reliable result:

Freehold Montessori students become ever more agile thinkers, poised communicators, and gracious collaborators—engineers of authentic and fulfilling lives.
